NSCC - Financial Aid - Applying for a Federal Student Loan

If you are interested in a federal student loan, please read and complete all sections of this online form. Click the submit button on the bottom of this form to submit this information to our loan counselor. After submitting this form, please check your Pipeline account in several days to view your loan amount. If there are any questions or additional information required, our loan counselor will contact you through the email address you provide us on this form. (Pipeline email preferred.)

We prefer to contact you via email regarding your loan request. Please provide your Pipeline email address (strongly preferred). If you do not have one at this time, please provide another.

Step 2: Request Loan Amount

The maximum loan amount you can request depends on the number of credits you have earned at North Shore Community College (this includes transfer credits that have been accepted from another school). To view your total credits earned to date, sign in to Pipeline and make the following clicks:

School Services tab > Student Services, Registration & Financial Aid > Student Records > Academic Transcript [look for "earned hours"]

If your earned hours equal...	The MAXIMUM loan amount for the full academic year
0-23 credits	$3500.00 [or $1750.00 per semester]
24 or more credits	$4500.00 [or $2250.00 per semester]

Step 3: What Happens When You Submit This Form?

When you click the submit button below, this information is transmitted to our loan department. Our loan counselor checks your initial eligibility for a federal student loan. If you appear to be eligible, the loan amount requested will be added to your aid package. (Remember: your loan can only be finally certified after the add/drop period, which is approximately one-week after the start of the semester.) You can check your loan amount in Pipeline within several days after you submit this form.
