Entry-level positions in dental assisting is one of the fastest growing healthcare fields, with a growing workforce of over 300,000 strong. This program prepares you for entry-level positions as a chair-side dental assistant, familiarizing you with all areas of administrative and clinical dental assisting to function in a dental practice. Learn the history of dentistry, introduction to the dental office, the legal aspects of dentistry, introduction to oral anatomy, dental operatory, introduction to tooth structure (primary and permanent teeth), the oral cavity; and other areas.Learn all areas of pre-clinical dental assisting and develop the professional skills necessary to work as an assistant in the field of dentistry. In addition to the classroom lecture and hands-on lab, this program also includes an optional 40-hour clinical rotation.
NSCC’ Dental Assistant Certification Training program is designed to prepare you to sit for the National Workforce Career Association (NWCA) Dental Assistant Clinical Certification (DACC).
