North Shore Community College (NSCC) will launch three new credit certificate programs this fall:  Healthcare Business Management, HighTech Manufacturing Management, and Gender and Women's Studies. The new offerings are designed to equip students with the skills needed to transition from the classroom into the workforce and will provide them with a strong base of introductory courses should they later seek advanced degrees.

The Healthcare Business Management Certificate will prepare students for business administration jobs in healthcare settings, and to pursue the general Business Administration Transfer (BAT) or the BAT - Healthcare Management Pathway. The certificate will provide students with a strong base of introductory business courses needed to later pursue an associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, entrepreneurial studies, finance, general business, management, management information systems, marketing, and other business areas.

The High Tech Manufacturing Management certificate will prepare students for business administration jobs in manufacturing settings, and to pursue the general Business Administration Transfer (BAT) or the BAT - High Tech Manufacturing Management Pathway. The certificate will provide students with a strong base of introductory business courses needed to later pursue an associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, entrepreneurial studies, finance, general business, management, management information systems, marketing, and other business areas.

The Gender and Women’s Studies Certificate allows students to study how the social construction of gender interacts with other identities in relation to systems of power and privilege. This interdisciplinary certificate provides a focus for students interested in gender and women’s studies within a liberal arts education. The Gender & Women’s Studies certificate provides students with a professional credential for industries where equity and inclusion work is valued.  It is also a primer for students interested in social justice activism.
