Submission Guidelines
Spark is a literary and artistic review comprised of student literary and artistic work. This publication is an opportunity for NSCC's skilled and talented writers and artists to come forward and showcase their work utilizing an interesting and visually dynamic format. Each submission is blindly reviewed by a committee of faculty and staff. Once submissions are reviewed, those submissions with the highest scores will be selected for publication. Please note that no compensation will be offered to students for their submissions beyond the honor of being published.
Literary Categories include essay, literary criticism, journalism interviews, poetry, short story (fiction or nonfiction)
- Submissions should be to 1000 words or less and must be submitted in Word or similar text program. Each submission should be accompanied by a brief biographical statement of the student.
Artistic Categories include fine art, photography, graphic design, and multi-media
- Pictures of artwork should be cropped to show just the artwork and submitted as a final piece.
- Accepted file types JPG, EPS (with all type set to outlines), PDF or TIF. All images must be 300 dpi.
Note: Producers are responsible for providing releases for all talent who appear in any of the artistic entries.
