NSCC is home. This is not because I live close by, but here, all of it is home. You know, I feel comfortable. No one judges me.
During her time at NSCC, Yuleika Lluveres excelled in areas she didn’t think possible. As a high school student, she considered herself shy and lacked personal confidence in her academic skills. But all that changed as a college student at North Shore. In fact, Yuleika took advantage of every academic and nonacademic student support and opportunity NSCC had to offer and her true self began to shine brightly as she transformed into the smart, articulate and charismatic person she was determined to become. Yulieka participated in NSCC’s work-study program at the Student Engagement Center, participated in NSCC’s Peer Coaching Program at the Tutoring Center, and was a leader within the honor society, Sigma Alpha Pi. Not only did she become involved in student organizations, but was also named NSCC’s Student Trustee where she was able to give a voice to student issues and concerns. After getting straight As in her Liberal Arts classes at NSCC, Yuleika graduated with an associate degree and took advantage of NSCC transfer pathways to four-year colleges and universities. She is currently enrolled at Salem State University where she is pursuing a Bachelor’s in Social Work and minor in Psychology.
