Campus safety is an important issue for North Shore Community College. Each member of the campus community - students, faculty, and staff - should take an active role in preventing and reporting incidents that jeopardize safety on and around campus. A safe and secure campus is everyone's responsibility.

The Safety and Prevention topics disclosed on our webpage suggest ways to promote personal safety and deter criminal behavior. Please review this information carefully.

At North Shore Community College, safety is a top priority. In an effort to give the College community a better understanding of what you can do to stay safe in an active shooter situation, we are posting the following Avoid. Deny. Defend. - How to deal with an active attacker video.

(Special thanks to the Texas - State Office of Risk Management, for producing, and providing access to this video)

This video demonstrates the FBI’s recommended strategies for protection, evacuation, and defense: Avoid, Deny, Defend.

Circulation of this video is to ensure that NSCC college employees, students, and visitors are well educated and prepared for any kind of active attacker situation. Protection against an active attacker requires coordinated efforts to escape and reduce the potential for injuries or fatalities in these tragic situations
