Grant funds are awarded based on financial need and do not have to be repaid. At North Shore Community College we offer Federal and
State grants. If you have financial need, you may receive the following funding. Students
who have a Bachelor's degree or higher will not qualify for grant funding.
Federal Pell Grant
The Pell Grant is made available by the federal government to students with extremely
high financial need and does not have to be repaid. Your financial need is determined
by your Expected Family Contribution. Annual award amounts are determined each year by the federal government. A student
may receive this grant if they are enrolled in 3 or more credits.
Federal Supplementary Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG)
The SEOG is funding provided to NSCC by the federal government. It is only awarded
to students who have Federal Pell Grant eligibility. This grant does not have to be
repaid.
MASSGrant
This is a grant awarded to state residents who complete the FAFSA before the May 1st
deadline and are attending full time. You will be notified directly from the Massachusetts
Department of Education if you qualify for the grant or not. If you do not qualify
for the MassGrant this does not limit your eligibility for other grant funding.
Other State Grants
