State Immunization Requirements for 2024-2025

Massachusetts school immunization requirements are created under authority of 105 CMR 220.000 Immunization of Students Before Admission to School

Students must provide a medical record of immunizations if they are:

  • A full-time undergraduate under 30 years of age.
  • A second year full-time or part-time Vet Tech student, regardless of age.
  • An individual, both full-time and part -time, from another country attending or visiting classes or educational programs as part of an academic visitation or exchange program, regardless of age.
  • A full-time or part-time health science student, regardless of age. (“health science” is the state term used for students in NSCC’s Health Professions programs, not the Associate of Arts in Health Science degree program; see Health Professions information below).

NOTE: The immunization requirements apply to all students who attend any classes or activities on campus, even once.  If all instruction and activities are remote and the student will never be on campus in person, the requirements would not apply.  Should a student physically return to campus, they would need to  comply with this requirement.

For all students described above, we will be collecting immunization documentation via our new partner, Sentry MD. Non-Health Professions students will be contacted directly by Sentry MD and will then be able to upload their proof of immunization onto their Sentry MD account for review. These students must submit documentation for immunity to measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR), tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (Tdap), varicella (Chickenpox), hepatitis B and meningitis. Additional program-specific requirements are needed for students in Health Professions programs and are collected in a separate process (see below for more information on requirements and submission of immunization documentation).

Information for Students in Health Professions Programs
Health Professions students may find their required immunizations outlined in the Program Acceptance packets. Health Professions students may have different procedures or electronic tools used to submit their documents.
