The North Shore Community College (NSCC) Alumni Association is seeking nominations for the Elected Alumni representative to the collegeโs Board of Trustees. ๐ง๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐น๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐๐น๐๐บ๐ป๐ถ ๐ง๐ฟ๐๐๐๐ฒ๐ฒ ๐บ๐๐๐ ๐ฏ๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ป ๐ก๐ฆ๐๐ ๐ด๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฒ.
The responsibilities of Massachusetts community college trustees are described in state law under Chapter 15A and include selecting and annually evaluating the college president, setting fee schedules, ensuring an annual independent audit, and providing appropriate governance of the college, among other accountabilities.
The term of the Elected AlumniTrustee is five years and those elected are limited to no more than two consecutive five-year terms. The NSCC Board of Trustees meets 6 times per year with committee meetings on an as-needed basis. The Elected AlumniTrustee must also attend two yearly meetings of the Alumni Association Board. The current vacancy will begin with a two-year appointment to fill a resignation.
