The North Shore Community College Foundation has awarded $410,000 to 309 new and continuing NSCC students for the 2024-2025 academic year.

This marks the 39th year of the NSCC Foundation Scholarship Program, and represents the tremendous growth of this donor-funded program from its start with just two $300 awards to more than $5M in total.

NSCC Foundation scholarship awardees and donors were celebrated at a special hybrid event hosted by the NSCC Foundation at the Danvers Campus on September 19th.

“The feeling I get from receiving this scholarship is worth more than the amount of the award itself. It takes a certain type of person to help with scholarships and it’s appreciated,” shared Anthony Impeartrice, Class of 2025, Scholarship for Veterans Awardee.

Professor Moonsu Han was recognized as the 2024 Dr. George Traicoff Award Honoree for his longstanding philanthropic leadership through his self-funded Fed Challenge Scholarship. “I was a first-generation college student, and without a scholarship, I could not get to the United States,” said Han. “Now, it’s my turn to give back.”

The mission of the NSCC Foundation is to secure resources to improve, promote and maintain access to a high-quality education.  Even with the launch of free community college programs by the Commonwealth, scholarships will continue as a priority of the NSCC Foundation in pursuit of equity in education and social justice for our community.
