LPN to RN Advanced Placement Option for the Nurse Education Degree.
The LPN to RN Advanced Placement Option is a full-time day program designed for Licensed Practical Nurses who graduated from a Practical School of Nursing approved by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing. Successful completion of the General Education courses are required prior to admission to the program. Accepted students must successfully complete a one-credit course, Transition to the Role of the Professional Nurse, during the summer session prior to the start of the Program in the Fall semester. Students are able to complete the Program in one academic year. Successful completion of the Program enables students to take the NCLEX-RN examination and apply for a license as a Registered Nurse.
Free Community College
Massachusetts allows all residents without a bachelor’s degree to attend North Shore Community College for free.
No tuition. No fees. Both programs include an allowance for books and supplies for certain students.

Applicants to the LPN to RN Advanced Placement Option must successfully complete the General Education courses prior to admission to the program. Applicants to the LPN to RN Advanced Placement Option are required to attend a Mandatory Information Session. Mandatory Information Sessions will be held virtually via Zoom or in-person at the Danvers campus. Each session lasts approximately one hour.

Applicants must attend a session during the academic year prior to admission (after August, 2024).
