The Fire and Emergency Services Higher Education (FESHE) Recognition Program, sponsored by FEMA, provides National Fire Academy (NFA) recognition to those regionally accredited institutions across the country that promote the standardization of fire science course titles, descriptions, and outcomes. Institutions with undergraduate fire science degree programs that offer FESHE model core associate's courses are eligible for recognition.
In June 2013 North Shore Community College received recognition from FEMA as a FESHE Institution of Higher Education.
Students who take courses that have been recognized as FESHE approved courses, and pass with a 70% or better grade, will have these courses recorded on a National Fire Academy (NFA) transcript and these courses will be nationally recognized the same as any National Fire Academy course. FEMA will also E-mail the student a Certificate of Completion.
This Certification adds to the prestige of your course and your Associate Degree.
