Provide important office support to today’s medical practice

NSCC’s Medical Office Support Certificate is a short-term training program for students interested in working in a medical setting such as a hospital records room, physician's office, clinic, medical laboratory or allied health organization. The program emphasizes a strong medical vocabulary and solid communication skills. It also provides training in computerized keyboarding, word processing, and transcription as well as third-party billing and medical office procedures.

Degree pathway

Courses in this certificate program count towards NSCC’s Medical Administrative Assistant Degree.

Minimum Expectations Statement: “To prepare medical assistants who are competent in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains to enter the profession.” 

 

Free Community College

Massachusetts allows all residents without a bachelor’s degree to attend North Shore Community College for free.

No tuition. No fees. Both programs include an allowance for books and supplies for certain students.
